Job Description

NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself over two decades. Our invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing. NVIDIA is a “learning machine” that constantly evolves by adapting to new opportunities that are hard to resolve, that only we can seek, and that matter to the world. This is our life’s work, to amplify human inventiveness and intelligence.

Are you a software engineer with a passion for hardware, ASIC design and VLSI? Be part of a diverse team crafting NVIDIA's chip design methodology! We're responsible for NVIDIA’s front-end ASIC software including RTL synthesis, equivalence checking, and early physical design and methodology for all of NVIDIA's semiconductor products. As part of our team, you'll design, develop and support sophisticated software around EDA tools and other CAD programs.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will architect highly automated and customizable design software incorporating logic/physical synthesis, design planning, and equivalence checking for industry-leading chip designs.

  • Apply innovative software engineering practices to streamline development and automate testing and deployment of our software.

  • Be responsible for design, implementation and testing in-house of CAD software.

  • Work with chip design teams and leading EDA vendors to evaluate the industry's most powerful design implementation and analysis tools.

  • Provide support for ASIC tools and flows.

What we need to see:

  • BS (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or Electrical or Computer Engineering and 5 years of CAD/software development experience; MS preferred with 3 years of CAD/software development experience

  • Software engineering experience with software design, algorithms, data structures, testing

  • Familiarity with Verilog and ASIC and physical design along with experience in commercial EDA tools

  • Strong proficiency in at least one of Python, C/C++, Tcl, Perl

  • Knowledge or experience with logic synthesis, physical design, formal equivalence checking.

  • Proven track record developing flows and/or tools for chip design

  • Experience with DevOps concepts and compute farm interaction, software deployment with CI/CD, performance optimization, containers, etc.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Familiarity with Machine Learning/Deep Learning

  • Experience in other ASIC methodologies such as RTL Lint, CDC, DFT or STA

With competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We welcome you join our team with some of the most hard-working people in the world working together to promote rapid growth. Are you passionate about becoming a part of a best-in-class team supporting the latest in GPU and AI technology? If so, we want to hear from you.

The base salary range is 128,000 USD - 258,750 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
