Fall 2024 Software Developer Co-Op/Intern

 

LOCATION: San Jose, CA

 

WHAT KIND OF ROLE IS THIS:

Onsite: This role require the student to work full time (40 hours a week), either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.

 

PROGRAM TERM:

Fall 2024: August 19 - December 13, 2024

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

As an Application Developer at AMD, you will play a crucial role in design and development of IT applications. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to build responsive and feature-rich applications using Python-based frameworks for both front-end and back-end development. This role offers a unique chance to apply your skills, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to innovative projects.

 

  • Collaborate with IT team and Business team including architects, developers, and other stakeholders to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for web based applications.
  • Develop and maintain the front-end of applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python-based frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
  • Implement back-end functionality and database integration using Python.
  • Ensure seamless communication between the front-end and back-end components of applications.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to deliver high-quality and reliable applications.
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
  • Stay updated on the latest web and application development trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of development processes.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python-based frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
  • Strong understanding of back-end development with Python.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
  • Experience with UI frameworks such as Bootstrap, React, or Angular.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of responsive design principles.
  • Knowledge of web development best practices and responsive design.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
  • Linux system administration skills beyond basic knowledge.

A highly motivated team player with a strong development background, problem solving mentality, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks along with willingness to learn and adapt. Excellent teamwork skills and capable of working independently.
