Fall 2024 AI/ML Intern/Co-op

LOCATION:

Boxborough, MA

ONSITE: This role requires the student to work from the Boxborough, MA office throughout the duration of the Co-op/Intern term.

PROGRAM TERM:

• Fall: August 19, 2024 – December 13, 2024

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• As part of AMD's AI-Augmented Design Methodology (ADM) central methodology team you will work across AMD's product portfolio to develop and enable methodology and tools to tackle key design cycle challenges for the company by leveraging AI technologies and industry best practices.
• Role may involve one or many of the below categories:
• AI/ML development via Python or other scripting languages.
• Data collection, manipulation, and analysis: Developing and extending processes and tooling to promote data-driven design and decision-making.
• Collaboration on ADM core Python library.
• Automated regression environment development.
• Tool development to drive enhanced efficiency for AMD AI frameworks.
• Using code review software to ensure high quality code is produced.
• By the end of the internship/co-op you will have a better understanding of:
• AI frameworks in use within industry.
• Real-world experience with software design cycle working in collaboration with other engineers.
• Development and product release of software.
• Emulation, simulation, and prototyping.
• ASIC design cycle

 KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with scripting languages (Python, shell scripting)
• HW/SW systems knowledge or interest
• Linux/Unix environment familiarity
• Version control experience (git/github, Perforce, etc)

 WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:

• Strong problem-solving skills and methodical work practices
• Good understanding of computer and systems architecture
• Experience with LLMs, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and/or TensorFlow/Keras

 WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year student enrolled in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Early year graduate candidate of in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science (or similar) program considered.
• Good communication skills
• A penchant for problem solving
• Computer Hardware backgrounds / knowledge preferred. Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar backgrounds considered.
