Job Description

For over two decades, NVIDIA has pioneered visual computing, the art and science of computer graphics. With our invention of the GPU - the engine of modern visual computing - the field has expanded to encompass PC games, movie production, product design, medical diagnosis, scientific research, computer vision, and deep learning. Today, visual computing is becoming increasingly central to how people get along with technology, and there has never been a more exciting time to join our team.

NVIDIA is now in the best position to take mobile visual computing to the next, previously unimagined level with Tegra, NVIDIA’s System-on-Chip (SoC). Tegra is powering a wide range of devices, from our own SHIELD consumer products to data centers and next-generation cars. To help this work we are looking for a Senior System Software Engineer to tackle increasingly hard problems in low level SoC functionality e.g. power and thermal management with a great team.

What you will be doing:

  • Developing software for NVIDIA Tegra System-on-Chip (SoC) that controls various core functionalities like clocks, frequencies, thermals, power management modes and various monitors.

  • Design, implement, document, verify and maintain our high quality software for multiple different kinds of products

  • Develop safety critical software development for autonomous vehicles.

  • Work closely with hardware teams already in pre-silicon phase and define new features with them

  • And develop software tools and infrastructure to support our development.

What we need to see:

  • Familiarity with embedded software and strong C/C++ development skills. Ideally between 2-5 years of experience.

  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field with proven experience on embedded systems

  • Good problem solving, time management and task prioritization skills.

  • Proficient written and oral communication skills in English.

Ways to stand out of the crowd:

  • Projects e.g. in GitHub demonstrating good C or C++ skills.

  • Hobby projects around Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, Arduino, Linux kernel software, etc.

Join our team and be part of the journey from pre-silicon development to delivering world-class products and satisfied customers. Experience the resources of a large corporation while enjoying a small office atmosphere where you can make a difference. Benefit from internal training, cross-domain talks, and collaboration with renowned universities. NVIDIA Helsinki is located in the vibrant Ruoholahti district. Enjoy amenities like a sauna, cooking facilities, and a game lobby for your breaks.

NVIDIA is committed to fostering a diverse work environment and proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
