What you will do

Within Technology Consulting, we assist clients to effectively leverage technology-enabled capabilities to analyze their business and operationalize their strategic goals. We combine knowledge of business processes with technology capabilities to drive operational efficiency across our client’s organization. As an intern, you will support our Client Engagement teams, performing a diverse range of tasks, including business process documentation, budget analysis, root cause analysis, and business case development. You’ll develop the skillsets you need to stay relevant today and in the future – all while building a network of colleagues, mentors, and leaders who will be on the journey with you at EY and beyond.

As a Technology Consultant at EY, you will support one of our areas of focus. During the recruiting process, you will align and interview for one of the below practices based on your skills and experiences. Opportunities will vary based on your location of interest.

• EY’s AI and Data teams assist clients to leverage AI and trusted intelligence to optimize performance, enrich customer and employee experiences, and unlock new sources of growth. Our expertise spans across Data Strategy, Performance, Engineering, Demand, Architecture, Business Intelligence, Reporting and Advanced Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Automation and Robotic Processing.

• EY’s Platforms team help our clients explore opportunities to innovate and mitigate risk through business-led, technology-driven transformations. We provide strategy, architecture, and solution implementation services, including application and integration of technologies like Oracle, ServiceNow, Microsoft and SAP.

• EY’s Digital Engineering teams focus on delivering next-generation experiences through digital products and platforms such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cloud. Our teams help clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by developing technology strategies, products, and solutions to stay ahead of the rapid pace of change and disruption. We deliver high quality systems with a focus on reliability and excellent customer experience.

• EY’s Technology Strategy and Transformation support clients across various technology capabilities including technology strategy and digital foundation design, technology capability assessment, technology operating model design and IT Technology organization design.

• EY’s Cybersecurity teams can help organizations to provide a clear picture of current cyber risk posture and capabilities, helping organizations to understand how, where and why to invest in managing cyber risks.

Industry sectors:

Our professionals are focused in three different industry sectors within which there are various opportunities available to start your career. During the recruitment process you will have to opportunity to express your preferences. The sectors are:

• The Financial Services Organization (FSO) serves leading investment banks, retail and commercial banks, insurers, and investment managers. As an FSO Technology Consulting intern, you will work in AI & Data or Platforms.

• The National Consulting practice serves clients across a variety of industries including, but not limited to: Consumer, Retail, Health, Life Sciences, Industrial Products, Mobility, Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Private Equity, Media, Technology, and Telecommunications. As a National Technology Consulting intern, you will work in one of the following areas: AI & Data, Cybersecurity, Digital Engineering, Microsoft, Oracle, ServiceNow, SAP or Technology Strategy and Transformation.

• The Government and Public Sector (GPS) serves federal clients, as well as state and local agencies and higher education institutions. As a GPS Technology intern, you will work in one of the following areas: AI & Data, Digital Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Technology Strategy and Transformation.

Job Requirements and Preferences

• Required Qualifications

• Have or be working toward an undergraduate or one year master\'s degree with a strong foundation in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, data science, or data analytics

• Aptitude and/or experience in Java, JavaScript, .Net, Python, C, C++, PHP, web development, analytics focused tools and platforms such as SQL, R, Tableau, Power BI, business process design, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, such as SAP or Oracle, or integration tools.

• Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint

• Flexibility and readiness to travel and work beyond standard hours when necessary (Ways of Working)

• Preferred Qualifications

• A demonstrated interest to work in consulting as reflected in relevant course work, organizational involvement, or internships

• Excellent written and oral communication skills; writing, publishing and conference-level presentation skills a plus

• Ability to quickly learn new concepts, strong interest and willingness to keep up with emerging technologies

• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Demonstrate a growth-oriented mindset with the ability to innovate and adapt in a dynamic business landscape

• Ability to drive projects to completion and manage multiple competing priorities in a demanding environment

• Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
