Consulting - Structured Finance – Staff

About our business

At EY Consulting, we are building a better working world by transforming businesses through the power of people, technology, and innovation. Our clients are at the heart of what we do. We’re focused on solving the key issues of our client buyers, building deeper relationships, and generating lasting value with significant impact.

Our firm sets the standard for consulting services, fostering an environment that encourages career ownership at every stage. As a part of our Structured Finance team, you\'ll be at the forefront of this dynamic service line, driving change and delivering solutions that revolutionize business operations. You’ll help our clients in transformation and innovation efforts: driving growth, reducing costs, and managing risks proactively.

What you will do

Within the FSO our Structured Finance team provides services to investment banks and asset managers, primarily supporting our clients by providing valuation and consulting services across the entire securitization and derivative lifecycle. This includes helping them prepare important transaction materials prior to deal issuance. These transactions include asset-backed securities (ABS), residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), collateralized loan obligations (CLO) and derivative products across asset classes.

Our Structured Finance team is highly collaborative and you’ll always have the support of your team while working on multiple high-profile projects. As part of the team, you will follow projects from start to finish, taking on a wide range of responsibilities and providing opportunities to learn new skills, tools and processes. This could mean using your eye for detail to identify errors in important transaction documents to reduce risk for our clients, using your analytical expertise to develop or review technical models or documents, as well as directly influencing our clients through meetings and presentations.

Structured Finance is a challenging specialist area, so you won’t be expected to hit the ground running – you’ll learn as you go. If you’re naturally curious, are genuinely interested in this area and are ready to engage with our clients, there’s no limit to how far you can go here.

As a staff consultant, you will:

  • Deliver on a broad range of tasks to support our clients’ needs related to securitization of a variety of asset types

  • Review transaction documents and verify information as accurate and complete

  • Assist on drafting and delivering agreed-upon procedures reports to clients

  • Recalculate information on large sets of data and prepare exception reports presented to clients

  • Learn about the cash flow models used to recalculate payments due to investors and convey this knowledge to colleagues and clients

  • Deliver consulting services in the areas of model development, model validation, market risk analytics and model governance

  • Stay abreast of industry news and trends, all while actively identifying potential risks and opportunities to improve our products and services

Job Requirements and Preferences

  • Required Qualifications

  • Pursuring a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant discipline, supported by a strong academic record

  • Excellent collaboration skills, and the confidence to speak up, challenge assumptions and influence strategy as part of a team

  • An analytical approach to learning and development, along with the dedication to actively pursue new opportunities to learn

  • An inclusive mindset, where you seek out and embrace diverse perspectives, value differences, and team inclusively to build safety and trust

  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary

  • Flexibility and readiness to work beyond standard hours when necessary (Ways of Working)

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing knowledge of financial products and/or securitization

  • Demonstrate a growth-oriented mindset with the ability to innovate and adapt in a dynamic business landscape

  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and a purpose-driven approach to turn challenges into opportunities and drive meaningful change

  • Access to reliable transportation for commuting to EY office and client sites, with a driver\'s license preferred (Ways of Working)

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The salary range for this job, in the US, is $78,000 - $88,000. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
  • Continuous learning: You’ll develop the mindset and skills to navigate whatever comes next.
  • Success as defined by you: We’ll provide the tools and flexibility, so you can make a meaningful impact, your way.
  • Transformative leadership: We’ll give you the insights, coaching and confidence to be the leader the world needs.

If you can demonstrate that you meet the criteria above, please contact us as soon as possible.
