Job Description Summary:

With no direct supervision, provides very complex specialized services and support to department, office, or program.

Job Description:

Job Duties

  • The marketing photographer specialist will support the college's Office of College Relations & Marketing (OCRM) to create engaging content that represents the diverse student and employee populations of the college and illustrate the various activities, events, and programs of ACC. 

  • Supports the Office of College Relations & Marketing in scheduling photography sessions at the direction of the Marketing Photographer and Associate Director of College Relations in alignment with marketing and college goals. 

  • Creates and edits high-quality photos in coordination with College Relations & Marketing staff. Advises supervisor and clients of progress.

  • Translates raw concepts and ideas into compelling imagery, either from his/her own concept or those of other staff members, within a prescribed deadline.

  • Responsible for all aspects of photo production, including lighting, editing, digital input, and file management.

  • Supports and organizes photo archives for easy access and optimum search capabilities using a digital asset management system.

  • Supports and archives talent release forms.Processes requests for digital or print copies of archived photos. Makes photos available on location shoots to OCRM staff for immediate use on social media platforms.Compiles photography collections in response to collegewide and external requests.

Knowledge

Must possess the required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

  • Knowledge of photographic processes and theories including composition and design.

  • Knowledge of social media platforms such as X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, blogs and their photo requirements.

  • Thorough understanding of photojournalism principles.

  • Knowledge and use of professional camera equipment and editing software systems.

Skills

Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

  • Ability to execute high-quality photos in controlled settings and on location.

  • Ability to work creatively and problem-solve with others.

  • Ability to be a self-starter and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents.

  • Ability to maintain established work schedule including some possible evenings and weekends depending upon photography needs.

Technology Skills

  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.

Physical Requirements

  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.

Safety

  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
