JOB DETAILS:
LOCATION: Austin, TX
ONSITE: This role requires the student to work from the Austin office (40 hours a week) throughout the duration of the Co-op/Intern term.
DURATION: January-27-2025 to May-2-2025
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The AMD Client Business Unit’s Technical Documentation Department is looking for a Technical Writer intern with the knowledge and ability to write and edit engineering-level documents for x86-based computer hardware and software. In addition, experience with Word, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Visio, Jira, and Confluence is preferred. Knowledge of DITA XML is a plus.
• Knowledge of x86 processor architecture.
• Knowledge of motherboards that support x86 processors.
• Ability to write about hardware and software as it relates to x86 processors and infrastructure.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment following prescribed processes for delivering NDA documentation to engineers.
• Ability to work on multiple documents concurrently.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited US University, preferable in Junior or Senior year. studying Technical Writing, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineer.
• Demonstrates ability to work with minimal supervision and to solve problems independently.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word styles and/or document-level paragraph styles and/or CSS style sheets.
• Ability to maintain consistent organization of multiple documents with multiple drafts and many reviewers across the company.
