Job Description
Summary
This position is intended to be a part time position (5-10 hours per week) to give some of the post bac students exposure to research. In this position, the post bac student will assist current lab members in an Alzheimer's disease project.
Job Purpose
Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.
Job Duties
- Collects behavioral data in mouse models.
- Acclimates mice for MRI studies.
- Collects tissues.
- Coordinates data analysis and collection with BCM Core services.
- Manages and stores data onto online databases.
- Learns how to process MRI datasets.
- Assists with preparing manuscripts.
- Assists with manuscript preparation.
- Orders items for the lab.
- Maintains lab cleanliness.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
