Description
The Strength and Conditioning Coach will assist in the planning, organization, coordination and supervision of strength and conditioning programming for all varsity and club sport student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Provide proper instruction and supervision of strength and conditioning activities.
• Design and implement strength and conditioning plans for varsity and club sport athletes.
• Assist in the oversight and management of the daily operations, activities and programs with the Harold Alfond Forum strength and conditioning facility, including maintenance and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hire, train, develop, and supervise Harold Alfond Forum Strength and Conditioning facility employees including; student employees certified student fitness specialists, interns and other certified coaches.
• Demonstrate an adherence to, and understanding of, NCAA rules and University policies.
• Develop professional relationships and effective communication with Athletics Department administration, coaches and other professional staff members.
• Collaborate with the Director of Strength and Conditioning and head coaches to develop properly periodized performance enhancement and injury-prevention based programming using scientific principles and researched-based techniques.
• Attain and maintain credentials and memberships in required nationally-recognized strength and conditioning organizations.
• Teach and advise student-athletes on the various aspects of training and recovery, including, but not limited to: strength, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, proper rest, testing, assessment and nutrition.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment in the strength and conditioning facility.
• Serve on various department and University committees, when requested.
• Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or other related field is required (master's degree preferred) with a minimum of 2-3 years of previous collegiate strength coaching experience preferred, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

• NSCA CSCS certification is required, as is certification in CPR, First Aid and AED.
• Additional professional memberships and certifications may be required.
