Description
The College of Business (CoB) at the University of New England (UNE) invites applications for a full-time, teaching-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship, beginning August 2027. We are seeking candidates with a doctorate or master's degree in entrepreneurship, business, or a closely related field (ABD considered), a strong record of teaching and thought leadership, and experience in applied entrepreneurial or innovation-related engagement, including work in industry, venture development, startups, public scholarship, or with nonprofit and governmental organizations.
This position will serve as a cornerstone faculty line for UNE's entrepreneurship curriculum, which is expanding from its existing Marine Entrepreneurship program to include multiple interdisciplinary pathways. These include new minors in marine and blue economy entrepreneurship and in health and life sciences entrepreneurship, as well as our "Entrepreneurship Across the Curriculum" initiative. The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship, including introductory and advanced courses across entrepreneurship, innovation, business, management, and related areas. The position carries a 4-4 teaching load (four courses in the Fall semester and four courses in the Spring semester). Furthermore, the successful candidate will also help connect entrepreneurship education to UNE's strengths in biotechnology, marine sciences, sustainability, and the health professions.
The College of Business prioritizes experiential learning, preparing students to apply their knowledge in practical settings. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to student engagement by creating dynamic, interactive learning experiences that foster critical inquiry, analytical thinking, and active participation. Experience creating or using Open Educational Resources and Open Access software is highly desirable and supports our commitment to zero-cost course materials.
This nine-month, teaching-track position offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with opportunities for summer teaching, interdisciplinary collaboration, and career advancement. The successful candidate will join a collegial, engaged faculty in a growing College of Business that is expanding its graduate, professional, and online offerings.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 4-4 course load of undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship, innovation, business, management, and related disciplines.
• Develop, revise, and assess entrepreneurship curriculum to ensure alignment with industry trends, workforce needs, and program goals.
• Partner with Entrepreneur-in-Residence staff and external stakeholders to create experiential learning opportunities, including consulting projects, venture development activities, competitions, internships, and startup initiatives.
• Advise and mentor students pursuing entrepreneurial, innovation, and venture development opportunities.
• Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to integrate entrepreneurship into programs supporting health professions, biotechnology, marine sciences, sustainability, and related fields.
• Develop and support programs that strengthen student competencies in innovation, opportunity recognition, business development, entrepreneurial leadership, and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with College of Business centers to expand entrepreneurship programming, student engagement, and community impact.
• Establish and maintain partnerships and engagement with entrepreneurs, businesses, investors, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders to support student learning and workforce development.
• Participate in assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement activities for entrepreneurship programs and courses.
• Contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications

• Master's degree in Entrepreneurship, Business, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated teaching, training, mentoring, or professional experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, venture development, business management, or a related field.
• Ability to teach foundational and advanced entrepreneurship-related coursework.
• Experience building partnerships with industry, nonprofit, governmental, startup, or entrepreneurial organizations.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA, or equivalent) in Entrepreneurship, Business, or a related field.
• Professional experience involving startups, venture development, innovation management, consulting, or entrepreneurial leadership.
• Experience integrating experiential learning into academic programs.
• Experience supporting student internships, career readiness, and employer partnerships.
